Social bookmarks are still siloed in separate systems: Furl, del.icio.us, spurl and dozens of others. Microsoft’s new TagSpace and ClaimSpace may just add to the noise in the market. New ideas are needed, and posted.

The British Library wants to make a snapshot of how Britain uses email, for use by historians in the future. A lot of socially and historically important email is lost already. I have lost a thread of messages from the 1980s, recalled here, which describes an international effort, coordinated by email, to track down a particular girl. If a technology can be put to romantic use… it will be.
